This session is perfect for anyone who's got the basics like knit and purl but is looking to improve their skills and give your knits a professional looking finish. Maybe you have knitted a garment but you are not confident sewing it up, or maybe you are unsure of the best way to weaving in your ends. And what is picking up stitches anyway?! If this sounds like your current dilemma this could be the workshop for you!
What we'll cover.....
- Mattress stitch for invisible seaming
- Picking up stitches (Great for ribbed collars)
- Choosing the right cast off
- Weaving in ends 2 ways
- Washing and blocking demo
You will need to bring with you two swatches of knitted stockinette. (See photo) One to still be on the needles and not yet cast off. The swatches should be approximately 15cm x 15cm each and can be knit at any gauge. I would recommend a lighter colour as the stitches are easier to see. Darning needles will be available to borrow but please bring your own if you have one.
Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided and you will also get a 10% discount on anything you buy in store on the day!
Important: This class is not for absolute beginners. Participants should be comfortable knitting and purling. If you cancel your booking a refund can only be given if your spot is taken by someone else so please give as much notice as possible by emailing or popping instore.
