March is here and finally a small glimpse of sunshine! It's been a full on month at the shop and my tiny brain has only been able to manage simple meditative knits for the past few weeks. I've not wanted to handle colourwork, cables or even shaping. I've just wanted to simply sit and work through a memorable easy project. It's what I've needed knitting to be recently and so I put aside the larger, more complex projects and cast on (and cast off) a Sophie Shawl with some new yarn at the shop. This completes my triad of Sophie projects! I've popped some details about the project below. This week, to ease my knitting fatigue, I cast on Scarf No 5 by My Favourite Things Knitwear in scrummy Cardiff Cashmere. This super simple project, in this beautiful yarn is just the right level of comfort and familiarity for my over stimulated mind and I'm starting to feel the pull of more intricate things again (but not quite yet)
There is LOTS of new yarns and colours at the shop so grab a cup of something warming and happy reading!

I chose to knit my Sophie Shawl by PetiteKnit in Superfine Alpaca Chunky which is brand new at the shop. I made the small sized shawl and used 4 balls (and every scrap of it!) I did need to go up to a 5.5mm needle to get gauge for the pattern but I am so happy with it! It's so squidgy, warm and alpaca suits this design perfectly.
Spring & Summer Yarns
We have started to see some demand for summery yarns at the shop already so I have popped our summer selection back out on the shop floor. I've got more shades of Sandnes Garn Line and Tynn Line in stock and both are great yarns for lighter weight tops and vests. We have also just got in a lovely DK weight cotton and silk yarn from King Cole. This gorgeous yarn will be lovely for next to skin softness and I'm already looking for the perfect t-shirt pattern for it. It's also very budget friendly but still has that luxury feel and is 100% natural fibres.
Last year I made the Farnham Tee by The Knit Purl Girl in Sandnes Garn Line and this year I am planning to make the Sabai Top by Susanne Muller in the same yarn.

That's it for this short but sweet blog this month. Happy Knitting,
Sarah x
