Low stock: 2 left
Join the 'My First Sweater Club' 5 week knitting course here at The Knit Lounge! If you’ve mastered the basics of casting on, purling, knitting and casting off and you are ready to move on from scarves, step into the wonderful world of knitting your own garments! The course will take you gently through all the techniques needed to make your own (well fitting) sweater!
The course will run for 5 weeks on Saturday from 4.30pm - 6.30pm on the following dates (outlined below) Each session is 2 hours and there will be time between each class to continue knitting your sweater and complete your homework! (Homework is not essential but to get the most out of the course we do recommend it) I will be knitting my own version of the sweater alongside you, and doing my homework :P

1st Febuary - Cast on working the neck and short rows
8th Febuary - Working the yoke increases

What's the Pattern?
The pattern we will be making is the 'DRK Everyday Sweater' by the designer Andrea Mowry. This sweater is a lovely classic shape that is worked seamlessly in the round from the top down. This sweater can be knit to be looser or more fitted depending on your own preference and the length can be adjusted to be cropped or long! I love Andrea's patterns and find they are laid out well with clear instructions, schematics and notes. The pattern is NOT included in the course cost. You will need to purchase it online or we can purchase a copy for you via the Ravelry In-store sales service. We can even print it for you! You can view the pattern here.
What do I need to bring?
You can use any yarn to like to make this pattern and I recommend a Sport / Light DK weight yarn (Andrea uses a 100% sport weight merino for her version) I've put together a list of substitute yarns that will be emailed out to you as there are so many possibilities! We will also be opening a special pre-order for a very similar yarn to the one Andrea used in her original sample! Watch this space! If you decide to buy your yarn with us you will get a 10% discount. Alternatively, if you already have Sport/ Light DK yarn you would like to use this is absolutely ok too!
You will also need to bring your copy of the pattern with you and 3.25mm 40cm -100cm circular needles and 3.75mm 40cm -100cm circular needles. Please note that depending on your gauge you may need different needle sizes than those specified in the pattern. Gauge and needle size will be discussed at length in session one.
Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided and you will also get a 10% discount on anything you buy in store on the evening of your classes. Please feel free to email or phone the shop with any questions.
Important: If you cancel your booking a refund can only be given if your spot is taken by someone else so please give as much notice as possible by emailing or popping instore. Please check carefully you are able to make the 6 dates.
