The Knit Purl Girl Virtual KAL

Welcome to our first designer focused Knit-a-Long! We have chosen local knitwear designer and pattern writer The Knit Purl Girl as our designer of choice. Sophie learnt to knit in the early Spring of 2019 and hasn't stopped knitting and designing since. Her designs are classic with real attention to details and fit. Her patterns include lots of extra guidance too if you are newer to knitting.

For this KAL you can chose any design from Sophie's back catalogue and we love to see people play with colour and yarn choice to really make their project their own. 

If you have followed us for a while you may remember me knitting the Farnham Tee over the summer which is one of Sophie's most popular designs

You can choose any of The Knit Purl Girl's designs for the KAL but here are some of our faves:

Patterns are available on either her website or on Ravelry.

When you sign-up for the KAL you will receive a code worth £65 to use on our website. You can use the code to stock up on yarn or tools you might need for the KAL. The code is redeemable through to the end of the KAL on January 30th 2026.

We will kick off with a Zoom on Friday 9th January 2026 from 8-9pm where we can share our yarn and colour choices, talk about swatching and gauge and getting you set-up to start your project. We'll continue with Zoom meet-ups on Fridays throughout the KAL so we can all show off our WIPs and give you any support you might need along the way. The KAL will run for a total of 4 weeks and end on 30th January. There will also be a Instagram group which you can join to chat with other participants and share your progress.
